Return of the Old
It had been a year sense Quinlan had stepped into a simulator of a Kitfox, the days of battling in searing heat came back to him quickly. But there was nothing to fear a he new his opponent was in the same situation.. Looking over the virtual heads up display he could see Beamncoke playing with the controls trying to feel them out. A the mark Quinlan lunged his little Kitfox into battle at a simulation of Hainfield. Knowing the terrain well Quinlan quickly moved behind the large hill to the right of his vid screen. Calculating that Beam would rush straight into a simulation Quinlan took up position behind the great beam. Suddenly Beam was being hit by several medium lasers and reacted by jumping over the area. Moving with great speed the battle swept throughout Quinlan's Base in the simulation. Seeing damage sensors all over both Quinlan and Beam retreated to sides of the base. Who would make the first move? Sensors had failed on both mechs it was up to the pilots. Quinlan made a tactical decision to sit in the base and wait. Quinlan watched for beam to make an error. And finally he did. Quinlan came charging out of the base and took off the left arm of Beam. Beam jetted up and swung around to meet the advancing Kitfox but all his efforts were for not as Quinlan's lasers finally had dealt their toll on Beam. The simulation ended with a crash of the simulators computer and Quinlan was unable to honor Beam for his excellent play. Quinlan knowing he still had the right stuff when it counted.
